Architectural Studies
Architecture Student Studio by Vik Lai
Creativity and health are paramount for an architecture student. The feeling of flow benefits both. There are several arrangement of this design borrowed from the philosophy of TaiChi:
– Feel the flow
– Draw a big circle
– Feel the power of the frame
– Yin Yang
Kago Kumari’s minimalistic mass timber structure and modular storage spaces are my references for this project. 48cm depth storage spaces are built with mass timber wood frames along the exterior wall sides. Underneath the floor in 9 grids is another storage space. The mezzanine floor deck for utter private activities rotates along the grids drawing a big circle and creating a flow in the 4 x 4 x 4 m cube.
