Spaghetti Sculpture that takes a load
That futuristic space beauty by Vik Lai
Creating curves with straight spaghetti is a challenge. Three diagonal lines from a half cube make an abstract from like a quarter of a pyramid, which is irregular enough to create a vibrant bio-mimic effect. A flower-like form is created by a circular array of the mirrored form in this sculpture. The flower foam is a radian form which favours taking a load. No flower has a heavy bottom, the support has to be light. To carry the heavy load, the column and The buttresses are taking advantage of the elasticity of the curved spaghetti with a reference of Elora Hardy’s bamboo building structures.
